Nutmeg Ukulele Festival

Saturday, September 10th, 2022 | 8AM-9PM

Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center welcomes you to the 2022 Nutmeg Ukulele Festival! For all festival information, including schedules, workshops, handouts & more, see below. Thank you and we hope you enjoy!

What to Bring?

  • Music Stand

Patrons will be able to leave their belongings in the auditorium all day – staff will be on site during breaks so belongings will be in a safe area.

Parking / Check-In

Limited street parking is available in front of Eno Memorial Hall. All other parking spaces are available behind the Eno Memorial Hall and in surrounding lots. An accessible entrance is located in the rear of the building. Registration/check-in will be located at the main entrance in the front on Eno Memorial Hall.

Schedule

8:00am – Ongoing: Registration 

9:30am – 10:00am: Group Play Along

10:15am – 11:30am: Workshop 1

11:30am – 1:00pm: Lunch

1:00pm – 2:15pm: Workshop 2

2:45pm – 4:00pm: Workshop 3

4:30pm – 5:15pm: Group Play Along

5:15pm – 7:00pm: Dinner Break

7:00pm – 9:00pm: Concert

Workshops & Handouts

Workshop schedules and materials are listed below (click on a workshop to view materials). Please choose which workshops you would like to attend and download the appropriate materials on a phone, tablet, or laptop that you can use during the workshop. Limited paper copies will be available to share on a first come basis (personal downloaded materials are preferred).

Workshop 1: 10:15am – 11:30am

  • Eve Goldberg – Fingerpicking for Ukulele

Workshop 2: 1:00pm – 2:15pm

  • Cynthia Kinnunen – Up Yer Kilt! Celtic Ukulele
  • Ben Hassenger – Playing with Others
  • Cathy Fink – Clawhammer Uke (no materials needed)
  • Gerald Ross  – You Don’t Need To Learn All Those Chords!

Workshop 3: 2:45pm – 4:00pm

  • Cynthia Kinnunen – Rhythm is Going to Get You
  • Gerald Ross – Three Note Chords
  • Marcy Marxer – Songs of Romance of GAS
  • Eve Goldberg – Paperless Jam
